We reviewed the Authority’s approach to the reduction of false fire alarms in non-domestic premises.
Our audit included reviewing the Authority’s policy, how it was developed and is being implemented, how false fire alarms (FFAs) are monitored, and how performance is managed and evaluated.
Overall we found that: The Authority has made progress in its approach to managing FFAs but due to reductions in firefighter capacity and stand still budgets, now needs to review how it manages FFAs to ensure services remain resilient.
