Auditor General receives CBE in Queen’s honours list Read more about Auditor General receives CBE in Queen’s honours list The Auditor General for Wales, Huw Vaughan Thomas, has been awarded a CBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list. He has been made Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his services to public audit and accountability in Wales” Huw Vaughan Thomas, who retires in July, has been Auditor General for Wales for nearly 8 years. He has spent nearly 5 decades working in public service, with previous roles including the Department of Employment Director for Wales and Chief Executive of Gwynedd and Denbighshire councils.
