Derwyn is the Executive Director for Audit Modernisation and Impact.

As a member of the Executive team, he has lead responsibility for leading on communications, IT, data analytics, planning and reporting (including the annual and 5-year plans), digital audit, Change and Transformation, innovation, and good practice.

He began a career in public audit with District Audit in 1998 as a trainee. Over nearly 30 years, he has gained extensive audit experience across various sectors and public bodies in both accounts and performance audit. For 15 years, he was an Audit Director with a wide-ranging audit portfolio as well as responsibility for overseeing work on IT audit, data analytics and digital audit. He became a member of ACCA in 2000 and has a degree in Accounting and Finance.

Although a resident of Cardiff for many years he is originally from the outskirts of Aberystwyth where he enjoyed a bilingual education.

His primary interest outside of work is sport – be that football, rugby, cricket, athletics.
