This report sets out the findings from the Auditor General’s 2024 review of the arrangements for managing demand for urgent and emergency care at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
Overall, we found the Health Board is altering its urgent and emergency care services to better meet demand, supported by strong plans and oversight. Whilst changes are leading to improvements in some areas, there is a need to make better use of other alternatives to its Emergency Department and to undertake stronger engagement with patients and staff to inform plans.
