Temporary accommodation

  • A homeless person in a subway
  • What we're doing

A study of how councils and their partners are working to address the increasing demand for temporary accommodation. It will also consider current and future financial implications for councils and assess whether there are opportunities to improve value for money in councils’ provision of temporary accommodation.

    Why we're doing it

Demand for temporary accommodation has risen dramatically in Wales over recent years. Our work will explain the cost and increase in demand for temporary accommodation and councils’ plans to deal with these challenges. We will provide assurance on how public money is being spent to tackle the need for temporary accommodation, provide evidence on where change is needed, and highlight opportunities to improve value for money.

    When we'll report
