Public consultation launched on the Auditor General for Wales’ future work programme
The Auditor General is calling on members of the public and people who work in the public sector to have a say about the topics and themes they believe the Auditor General should look into.
The feedback gathered will help to inform the programme of work for the public sector watchdog in future years.
Every year, the Auditor General for Wales carries out work to examine the delivery and management of public services in Wales. Sometimes auditors look at a particular service area, other times they focus on individual organisations, specific projects and funding programmes.
The studies chosen enable us to share good practice and support public services to address the challenges they face. These challenges are significant and include financial constraints; implementing new policy directives; the changing political landscape surrounding Brexit; and a rapidly changing digital environment.
The consultation is a short online questionnaire, which can be accessed by visiting our consultations page. It will remain open until Friday 6 July 2018.
Auditor General, Huw Vaughan Thomas, said today: “This consultation gives an opportunity for the people of Wales to have their say on the areas and themes I audit. My core aim is that the people of Wales and the National Assembly should know whether public resources are being managed wisely and I would be interested to know the key issues that matter to people and the areas they think I should focus on in my studies programme.”
