Derwyn Owen
Derwyn has worked for Audit Wales and its predecessor bodies, the Audit Commission in Wales and District Audit since 1997.
Derwyn is a Financial Audit Director, having a wide ranging portfolio of audits across the whole of Wales including local government, NHS and central government bodies. He is also the lead on our audit work in respect of Company Act audits and the Director responsible for overseeing the Information Management and Technology audit work. Derwyn has been a member of ACCA since 2000.
Derwyn was born and bred on the outskirts of Aberystwyth and was educated at Ysgol Gyfun Penweddig. In 1997 he gained a first class degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wales Aberystwyth before moving to Cardiff later that year. Derwyn is a fluent Welsh speaker.
Outside of work Derwyn is an avid sports fan and in particular enjoys running. He has completed a number of marathons including New York City, Boston, Berlin and London.
