On Graduation in 1988 with a degree in Pure Mathematics and Accountancy, he worked as a trainee accountant for Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council for two years before moving to Clwyd County Council. He joined District Audit in 1992 and carried out a number of roles with portfolios that included financial audit work in local government, NHS, police and national parks. He also delivered value for money work on topics including environmental management and efficiency savings.
Following his promotion to Engagement Partner, Kevin was responsible for the audit of a Unitary Authority, three NHS trusts, a local health board and Estyn. He was also heavily involved with Audit Wales's Good Practice Exchange project working on topics such as Making the Connections and a CIPFA award winning project on asset management.
Kevin was appointed Director of Corporate Resources at Audit Wales in 2014. A member of the Wales Audit Office Board and Executive Leadership Team, and Chair of the Corporate Enablers Leadership Team, Health and Safety Committee and Equality Steering Group, his role involves overseeing the development and delivery of Audit Wales’ corporate strategy, as well as running the organisation’s enabling functions: Board Support, Business Services, Communications, ICT, Law & Ethics, and Planning & Reporting.
Married with two children, Kevin lives with his family in North Wales. A keep fit enthusiast, Kevin has completed a number of 10k races and half marathons. Kevin’s most satisfying achievement was completing the 2006 London Marathon in under 3 and a half hours. But, he now spends most of his exercise time either cycling or in the gym.
