The key focus of our review has been on whether the Health Board’s approach to workforce planning is helping it to effectively address current and future NHS workforce challenges.
Overall, we found that whilst the Health Board has set out a reasonably clear and ambitious workforce strategy, it needs to significantly strengthen its implementation plans along with the organisation's workforce planning capacity and capability. Arrangements to oversee the delivery of strategic and operational workforce aims also need to be strengthened.
